What people are saying about birding tours with Birding Ecosse:    Oct 2025 • Friends

Our party of four were guided by David who did all the driving and because of his many years of birding in the area knew all the extra special sites and where we were most likely to have a success. David was friendly, very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and very happy to share his extensive knowledge in response to my very amateur questions. All in all a lovely man that made our four days birding on the coast and in the hills extra special. No way could we have had the birding success without his guidance. To top it all he is a really lovely man. We have booked again! A&P UK Oct 25
  • Hi David. Thank you for a splendid few days birding and for being so well looked after in the gastronomic department! Looking forward to Easter 2026.  DC Oct 2025
  • Dear Dave,  Just a note to say thank you so much for 5 wonderful, fun days with interesting people – and of course, the magnificent wildlife – together with unlimited sweeties!! The highlight for Chris was the sight and sound of the enormous flocks of pink-footed geese, especially at Jemimaville last Sunday. I am at a loss to know where to begin: yes, the pink-footed geese, but also watching a red deer through the scope and seeing it lick its lips and then roar, and the totally amazing day on Thursday, as per your blog! We were very satisfied with the hotel; comfortable, well-located and excellent food. V&C H October 2025
  • Thank you for a memorable Scottish Adventure:                                              The four days with you were the highlight of my entire journey. I treasured every moment—from our lively car conversations to the sweeping ocean views, the birds at feeders, the hot tea and biscuits, and your knowledge of US and Scottish birds, for example being able to explain differences between our Great Blue Heron and your Gray Heron. I learned so much, laughed often, and photographed with abandon. Thank you for such a rich and joyful experience. JJ USA Sep 25
  • Fantastic Experience Sept 2025 • Couples

Myself and my wife booked a highland bird tour for the day with David, and what a day we had. We’re very much beginners when it comes to bird watching so we’re keen to learn. David has a knack of making you feel relaxed and comfortable straight away, his knowledge of birds as well as the nature and history that surrounds them is extensive and we learnt so much through the day. Never short of a brew and sweet treats on our breaks through the day, nothing was too much trouble including toilet breaks as and when required. David’s hospitality as well as his knowledge was fantastic. Would recommend this experience 100%, thank you so much David!
